Shah Alam: Guide

Shah Alam (120 000 habitants) est une ville de Malaisie, capitale de l'état du Selangor depuis 1978, après le détachement de Kuala Lumpur de cette province, pour créer un territoire fédéral.

Shah Alam, une ville satellite nouvelle

Dans les années 60, suite à l'explosion urbaine en Malaisie, le développement de ville nouvelle|villes nouvelles a continué. L'expérience de Petaling Jaya, avait créé une école urbanistique dont les règles ont été réutilisées pour Sungai Renggam. Celle-ci n'était qu'une plantation de palmier quand son développement fut mis en place. Batu Tiga fut ensuite le nom donné à cette nouvelle urbanisation, avant de prendre le nom de Shah Alam.

Urbanisme

Comme Petaling Jaya, la ville est divisée entre zones d'habitation (essentiellement des maisons de ville contigües à un étage) et zones commerciales. Celle-ci formant le noyau de la 'Seksyen' (section).
Le centre-ville, consiste en un ensemble administratif (provincial), et une galerie commerciale.
Le Sud de l'autoroute fédérale est dédié aux industries, tout en fournissant des sections d'habitation.

Intérêts

Stade public : 81 000 sièges - Non-réglementaire. Utilisé seulement pour des rencontres footballistiques mineures.
Mosquée d'état : connue pour son dôme imposant, et flanquée de quatre minarets.
